Additional InformationSteve McQueen is Buzz Rickson, a daredevil fighter pilot during WWII. Rickson's rebellious nature serves him well in warfare--especially during the B-17 bombing raids on Germany--but he feels out of place and alienated during everyday civilian life. His more mild-mannered copilot Ed Bolland (Robert Wagner) lives only to get through the war to resume life with his girl Daphne (Shirley Anne Field). Despite their differences, the two pilots remain friends--until Buzz destroys even this relationship by pursuing Daphne for himself. This gripping wartime character study is based on a novel by John Hersey.
Great film shows what a great actor Steve McQueen was plus how war wasn't all negative some people got very famous by going to war and were good at taking part who would in normal circumstances never ever been noticed in life although sad but deliberate end to this film a bit sl liar to Brad Pitts film fury with similar ethics yep great movie tho well worth the watching
