Additional InformationThis double bill features the movie spin-offs from the hugely popular television series revolving around a father and son team in the rag-and-bone trade. In STEPTOE & SON, Albert goes to great lengths to get rid of son Harold's new bride, a stripper called Zita. But when Zita falls pregnant, Harold is going to have to choose between the two of them. In the following year's STEPTOE & SON RIDE AGAIN, Harold buys a greyhound from a local criminal. The dog loses its first race and Harold-- with his debts mounting--hits upon a cunning plan to claim his father's life insurance. He just needs to convince the company that Albert is dead!

Nostalgic
The Movies are no better than the 1/2 hour tv shows stretched out a bit. They had some brilliant characterisations but, realtive to the additional time and expense of the production, all too often weak story lines. Very nostalgic to me as I remember the tv series as originally shown in the early '70s and brings happiness and sadness in equal measure. I can't quite believe that HHC has been gone for so many decades now, or even WB come to that! Technically the picture and sound quality could be better with some sections being a bit ropey. Overall though it's none too bad. It is unlikely that this print as transfered on DVD would look much better on a bluray at HD I wish this could have been a proper remaster from early generation film and sound materials, presented on bluray/ HD.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
