LL Cool J hasn't survived in the rap game by churning out rubbish, but he hasn't been as consistently hot as, say, De La Soul or Gang Starr. For those of you who only know Cool James as a R&B rapper, who duets with J-Lo or Boyz II Men, then this album will give you more of a taste of what he was like before. It's one of his more consistenly solid albums, along with Mama Said Knock You Out, and shows you more of a 'hard' edge. A lack of a big single over in the UK made it one of his over-looked albums, but anyone who can make a song called 'Pink Cookies In A Plastic Bag Being Crushed By Buildings', and actually use that line in the chorus, deserves some credit. In short, a good transitional album between his new and old personas. Solid throughout.
