excellent cd, Finley produces some great vocals on this truly amazing album. This album contains some of Finleys best tracks and is surely not one to be missed. Brilliant!
I bought it because i had a distant memory that I used to like a few songs when it first came out. I was young, was discovering myself, learning about my likes and dislikes. I am now fully grown and have an appreciation for my preferences and unfortunately; I have out grown this album. What was obviously a bit of a soul/ reggae period for me ( probably wanting to appear cool by the acknowledgement of Bob Marley being a 'happening' dope smoking chilled out dude). The tunes I used to pass for chilled out and interesting now are replaced by unusual and annoying. So if it's a trip down memory lane you're looking for please have a think of what your musical tastes have moved on to, if they are not slow, unusual semi-tuneful, semi-reggae, then I'd give it a miss
i bought this cd for tha memories and after reading a review from a guy who realised after all these years he had grown out of the album i thought it would be an interesting listen to see how i felt. not only was i pleasantly surprised but certain in my prognosis. finlay pulls it off NICELY! his band too is amazing, a sound you don't really hear anymore from an era of great music the mid 90s. in regard to this neo-reggae malarkey, yea there are some moments you think, what you on about finlay, but musically this album is sound from beginning to end without flickin..and achieves the longevity with tracks mooching smoothly from one to tha next. finlays vocals are assured and covers well the scottish underbelly. now that quaye is off tha scene i think the anonymity adds to the album. so if you don't know who he is buy this album and enjoy something reminiscent but unique in its own right. 5/5Read full review
This album made Finley Quaye a legend. Great songs, a must have for any collection. also checkout from 2004 - Much more than much love' "Dice" a collaberation with William Orbit is in my opinion one of his best songs yet. Buy it and be happy.
What an album!! Reggae vibes but with acid funk mixed in. Really lets you chill out when you listen to this cd. Even my 2 and 5 year old love it
