Culled from Earle's fist four albums on MCA this is a great doorway into the music of Steve Earle. It skillfully avoids the obvious tracks notably Copperhead Road and Guitar Town and includes for the first time on a compilation such great live tracks as Greg Trooper's Little Sister, Doug Sahm's She's About A Mover and The Stones' Dead Flowers. Unless you have everything by Steve Earle buy this CD! PS it had the working title of 'Made from union labour on American Soill'

It was exactly what I wanted.

This collection compiles the best of (Minus Guitar Town & Copperhead Road - Which weren't available to the compiler) Earle's first MCA albums and some rare B sides. The original title for the album was "Made by Union labour on American soil" But that was dropped for the snappier current title. The B-sides used on this release were taken from first generation sources. Whilst subsequent releases may have been from their compilers personal copies it is more likely that they were simply copied from this release.
good value
