One of those bands that have grown on me, took a long time to fully appreciate the quiet, almost wisper of a voice and soft lush instrumental music behind it. Covers genre's of soul, country and rock/pop. Track four is outstanding sixties mowtown/soul sound the rest lear more to the country/instrumental sound, but there isn't a duff track on this cd. Obvoiusly a lot of work goes into the arrangements of the instrumentation as does most of Lambchops music. I recommend also " how I gave up smoking", "is a woman", "Nixon", "damaged" as other cd's of theirs very worth buying. The sound varies little across these cd's, but it is a quality sound that grows and grows and is totally absorbing and eventually you recognise more and more subtle differences in the overall sound of each one that help define it from the others.Read full review
