I have the two most recent albums released by Snow Patrol and wondered if their older music was as good. I found it quick and easily on ebay and its a bit more indie but as Louis Walsh would say " I like it".
I bought this album having become hooked on Final Straw. Hoping that Snow Patrol's earlier offering would be just as good I have to say I'm a little disappointed. This certainly doesn't come up to the standard of the boys' recent material. Buy this only if you're a dedicated fan and not just thinking like I did it would be just as good as Final Straw.
I wanted this album to hear Snow Patrol's early days. It's an average album, much more structure to it than the Songs for Polar Bears but still not quiet an album which fits together as well as Eyes Open or A Hundred Million Suns. All the songs seem to blend into another and before I knew it, it was over. I wouldn't recommend it if you're not a fan of Snow Patrol.
By my name on here i'm sure you all know how much i LOVE this band. This was the third snow patrol album i brought,it was their second that they released. This is a big improvement on their first release, songs for polar bears. The sound of this album is much more grown up and the lyrics are much more poignant. The haunting sound of An olive grove facing the sea is a firm live favourite and Ask me how i am is back to their original underground sound and has promo of Gary pretending to be dressed as a dog..strange but somehow it works! Throughout this album Gary's amazing vocal range is showcased and his lyrics are touching and somewhat very true.I love this album,i love this band and if you are a fan then you must buy this album. You will not be disappointed.10/10
Im a recent fan of Snow Patrol and wanted to listen to some of their early stuff. Have to say I was a little disappointed I much prefer their last two albums. For die hard fans only I fear!!!
