With the release of this CD back in 2000, Sheena hoped aiming for the gay market would help her back into the UK charts. Sadly, the ploy didn't work as neither the album nor the lead-off single (a cover version of The Three Degrees' "Giving Up Giving In"), set the charts alight. The commercial failure of this album was a disappointment for me, as being a Sheena fan since the early '80's, I would have loved to see her back in the charts! However, in my humble opinion, this 10 track album is well worth buying. Great to have on if you're having a party or getting ready to go out on a Friday or Saturday night, it consists of eight cover versions of classic disco tracks plus two new tracks, "You Never Gave Me The Chance" and "Get Here To Me". The covers include versions of Donna Summer's "Love Is In Control", Gloria Gaynor's "Never Can Say Goodbye" and Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way", all of which are given a more up-to-date, contemporary feel. For me, though, the standout track on the album is the dreamy "You Never Gave Me The Chance", a great ballad. Admittedly, the album is lightweight stuff, but Sheena's voice is as good as ever and if you like your music frothy, fun and easy on the ear, then you can't go far wrong with this!Read full review
