An outstanding authentic collection of REAL English folk-dance music from the 1950’s
This is a collection of real village dance music engagingly performed by several semi-amateur musicians from Norfolk and Sussex; and recorded around 1960-ish. The performances have been sympathetically remastered, and are clean and clear. I recognise some of the tunes from Country Dance lessons at my 1950’s Essex County Primary School. The band, were they still living, would not have argued with you for saying the performances are a little rough; and all the better for being so. THIS IS NOT HAMPSTEAD LOUNGE FOLK MUSIC!
