Back-lit is the new black
Having used a back-lit keyboard on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for a year, I am now delighted to find that back-lit is also available on ThinkPads (which have moved on from the ThinkLight) and, as in this instance, regular USB keyboards. Previously I have used a gaming keyboard with lights, but they just lit up behind the keys, absolutely useless for typing in the dark. This unassuming smooth black keyboard is the business. Well spaced and well sized keys, it is not a mechanical keyboard, but it is the most pleasant non-mechanical I have ever used. I can only describe the action as smooth. The keyboard has a row of media keys at the top but is not cluttered and has nice large shift and back-space keys. Colours are supposedly red, blue and purple although my son describes the latter as pink and I tend to agree. All colours are effective at all levels of brightness instead of having to use an external light or just fumbling around in the dark. Use Fn with Scroll Lock to change colours, and Fn with UP and DOWN arrows to change the brightness level including OFF. I am typing this now with red level 2. The only fly in the ointment is the Metro logo which is also lit up. I don't blame the poor manufacturers for wanting their moment of glory, but moment it was, until I put some black masking tape over it. Bliss. And such very good value. I could nit pick and remark that brightness levels do vary between keys, but not violently so, and the very very important point is that all keys can easily be seen, the evenness and precise shape of every individual key is excellent, and the overall effect can be lit up or toned down to taste. Thoroughly recommended. I am totally sold on this idea. It is now so obvious to me that all keyboards should be made this way. Of course I don't suppose that all manufacturers do it properly. Microsoft do, Lenovo do, and Metro does!

Versatile Illuminated keyboard at sensible cost!
The item is a well thought out well engineered mass market product which satisfies most needs. I think it is aimed at the younger/game oriented user, but my elderly mother uses 1 chiefly because it is illuminated. It is v. good value and easy to use, it's modest cost will win many friends and it looks as if it is built to last. Highly recommended

Great keyboard, great price
Bought this for my mrs not for gaming but for her working at home and as the keyboard lights up pink she loves it more. Being that much bigger than normal keyboards it’s easier to get around, as the title says great keyboard great price but could do with telling people how to change the keyboard colour and brightness of the keyboard 👍 hold FN key and use the keys marked with a brightness symbol 😉
