Novelty only will NOT throw sparks
This is a cool looking piece and is great for show but if you are purchasing for function then you will be disappointed. I tried several different types of flint and chert and not a single spark. I'm well practiced with flint and steel and even tried to clean the face of the striker. Cool for show only but not for fire starting.
