I've known Joan Armatrading's music since the early eighties, mostly through the medium of the cassette. I've renewed most of the titles, mainly through eBay, and now have my collection on CD. But somehow I never got round to getting 'Lover's Speak', possibly because it had poor reviews when it was issued. Or maybe just because. Anyway, it's a poor album on first listening, and second and third, but it does get better. Initially the tracks seem rather samey, with little variation in production, but as you get to know them they grow. In general, though, it's rather lightweight, with no standout tracks and a couple of real shockers. But then that's not bad out of fourteen. Give it a try, if you are an Armatrading fan.
It's Joan Armatrading - no scratches, marks, writing on sleeve etc etc. A great price, and definitely worth top marks.
