This is Christina Milian's debute album. To the best of my knowledge, it was never officially released in the US. She hit us with the hit song "AM To PM" and then the album got shelved for the US release, though it did get released overseas (the UK and Japan). The album offers R-N-B music that mainstream radio would support just as much as R-N-B/Hip-Hop radio would. It definitely captures where popular R-N-B was back in 2002. The album opens with "Get Away," a mid-tempo R-N-B joint featuring Ja-Rule before he got unbareably annoying. Next up is the uptempo hit "AM To PM." This song made alot of noise back in it's day which makes it very hard to understand why the US never saw the album. "When You Look At Me" is a uptempo relationship groove. "Spending Time" has that summery Murder Inc. sound they ran with back in 2001 after having alot of success with that Jennifer Lopez's remix. Charli Baltimore makes an uninspired appearance on this one. "It's Hurts When..." is the 1st real ballad on the album. The sugary sweet production has a vunerable Christina singing to an ex-boyfriend who she thought she was over but finds out she isn't when he gets a new girlfriend. Beautiful song. "You Make Me Laugh" is a great uptempo song, however, it reminds me a bit of some of Mya's uptempo songs mixed with "AM To PM." "A Girl Like Me" features and is produced by Jermaine Dupri. The overall sound of the song is kinda bland compared to the rest of the album and has a hint of a dirth south feel for the times...which I'm not personally a fan of. "Twitchm," "Got TO Have You" and "Your Last Call" (a bonus track on this version) are more radio-ready uptempo songs. "Until I Get Over You" and "Thank You" are tender slow jams featuring the softer side of Christina that was featured on "It Hurts When..." "Satisfaction Guaranteed" has a bit of a pop dance feel to it. Overall, this is a good introduction for Christina Milian. Personally, I would say that her 2 albums that followed this one are better. Christina's voice is great and the sound of this album totally captures of the feel of radio-ready R-N-B feel of 2002. This album is a must for fans of this era of music and espeically Christina Milian fans.Read full review
