Essential box set for serious Peggy fans
At first glance I thought a 4-CD box set was too much Peggy for me. As well, it being a singles collection I expected an uneven listening experience. I was wrong. This is a great box set which covers all the various labels she recorded for. This set concentrates mainly on Capitol, which makes sense as that's where she had the most success. There's a lot of variety from jazz ballads, swingin' uptempo, novelty, blues etc. Could any singer do it better than Peggy? Highly recommended.
