I read somewhere that this particular album from Simple Minds is a limited edition...that doesn't concern me as much as just knowing I have this album for the music! If you're considering listening to more of Simple Minds, THIS is one album you MUST listen too. Like many people, back in the 80's (my generation), I discovered Simple Minds with their smash hit, "Don't You Forget About Me." From that particular point of their back history I've followed them along. I feel that THIS album is one of their greatest works! Second being Cry, and third being Once Upon A Time. I love the Black and White album too, but I don't know where to fit that in just yet ;) From the very beginning, you're drawn into the rythmic sound and pulled out of your world. Unique beats, sounds, and rythmns. Each song thereafter just "picks you up, flips you around mentally and emotionally, relieving all kinds of stresses while placing catchy tunes in your head and then gently placing you back down just before the end." Recently I've been getting all the back albums and have found myself wondering why they're not as popular in the USA as they are in Europe. Perhaps it's just American idiocy; the music I've seen and heard on European MTV is much more rythmic than the crap you see and hear on MTVs here. If one person could make the difference to get them more popular here, it would be me! After collecting all the back albums and also the video collection I've actually listened too all their music and still Good News From The Next World Remains my favorite. If this album IS a limited edition, may I suggest that you certainly purchase this album from someone very reputable, definitely someone with 100% feedback, and in their description they speak of the album being the original deal. You don't want a fake. The copyright of the album is 1995. If you pick up a copy and it doesn't sound right, the booklet doesn't feel or look like a CD booklet, and the copyright is not 1995, put it back down or skip over it. I have an American release copy(1st owner), and I also have two copies that I ordered from Europe(second owner on each). One was made in the UK and one was made in Holland. My Holland copy is a gift for my cousin, and the Uk version is to replace my scratched American copy since I listened to it so much! All three copies are copyrighted 1995, obviously "made in" different countries, and the PAPER stock used for the booklet is relatively the same. If you're considering purchasing this album, you've made a really good choice. Now, make a really good choice on who you purchase it from and go get Hypnotised!!!Read full review
Fantastic quality for a great price. The album itself is superb. Not a mark on the CD at all.
Verified purchase: No
I liked their earlier stuff, so i thought i would give this album a try (and why not for £2.49?!?!). I'm really glad i gave it a try as it still retains elements that i enjoyed from previous albums, but with a modern edge to the songs. Plus you have to love Jim Kerr's amazing voice...
