Vegemite Sandwich
I finally broke down and bought some Vegemite after being curious about it for many years after hearing about a Vegemite Sandwich in a song. I wanted to eat it correctly so I did some research on the internet about how it should be eaten. That was when I found out about the controversy between Vegemite and another product of similar ingredients named Marmite, so I ordered some Marmite too, and did a side by side taste test. These products are a seasoning, and they should be used sparingly. Eating a large dose of either product could be compared to eating a large tablespoon of salt or pepper, you just wouldn't do it. Vegemite LIGHTLY spread on buttered toast is a taste treat, and is really quite pleasant! Marmite on the other hand has a foul overpowering salty taste, and I will never knowingly put it in my mouth again. If you want me to confess to anything, all you need to do is threaten to force feed me Marmite! I have made myself a Vegemite sandwich as an after breakfast snack everyday since it arrived, When I run out of Vegemite I will order some more. I put the Marmite in the garbage can and I can only hope that someone picking through the dump does not mistake it for a food product. Put a light skim of the stuff on a piece of toast, then a layer of thin sliced avocado, then a layer of thin sliced tomato, then some really coarse-ground black pepper. I was 1st introduced to Vegemite during WOG day while crossing the Equator in 99. Shellbacks would give us WOGS a Vegemite mustache. It smells terrible.
