• High Gloss Finish. • Excellent resistance to sunlight and colour fade. Designed primarily for the customisation of brake callipers and brake drums. Apply sparingly from a distance of 15 – 25cm. Apply 2 to 3 light coats as necessary to achieve total and even coverage, leaving about 15 minutes between each application.

    Hycote Red Caliper Paint

    Honestly the worst paint I've ever used. Calipers and carriers were sand blasted and prepared properly and completely rebuilt. This paint has completely ruined the whole job. The calipers were painted about a month ago, went to fit them to the car today and the paint was still tacky. All dirt from hands instantly got trapped in the paint. Then while fitting the calipers some brake fluid went onto the paint and melted it straight away. I've tried getting the paint off and in the process of removing the caliper again rounded off the brake hose so that's something else I've had to buy. Paint is very soft so couldn't even remove it easily, couldn't paint over it either because it makes the Hycote Spray paint react even more. Never buying anything of this brand ever again, the whole thing has meant I've been left without a car while new parts turn up, I've had to do the job twice and cost me twice as much.

    Used this paint for a Motorcycle caliper that had a brake fluid leak. Painted the caliper before the rebuild and the paint had set hard when it came to the rebuild. Caliper looks great!

    Disappointed

    I found the paint very thin, with not much control with the nozzle, either full was full blast or off, a 400 mill can with the wastage of paint would only do two calipers, , I ended up hand painting my calipers with a different product to get the good result i wanted to achieve.
