Do not buy. ONLY works with alkaline type cells, of a sort that leak in flashlights
Will not work with NiMH rechargable C cells. Absolutely demands the added voltage of alkaline C batteries. NO OTHER KIND OF BATTERY, other than alkaline C cells (that commonly leak in and destroy flashlights of this design) work in this flashlight. This also suggest little or poor electronic regulation of the voltage applied to the LED... an indication of bad design. You're better off getting any of a large number of other flashlights that will work with either alkaline or other (NiMH or Li Fe S type ("ultimate lithium") cells. MANY flashlights...THIS is the BEST.
Remember that in a pinch, when C - cells are not available, you can use AA cells. You just have to wrap them to make sure they are centered in the tube. Their length is just a couple thousands of an inch longer. They will only have 1/3 the life time of the C cells, but AAs are widely available. Great flashlight.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Maglite ML50L
I really like it so far. Easy to handle/carry, light weight and super bright for a long distance. I also like the quick beam focus. The best part is that is is still built in the states. Very high quality. I have own at least one Maglite for the past 25 some odd years. I think, as long as the stay around, will own one tell I am gone. Great woods light
Long run times (extremely long) has great throw and plenty bright usable light. Quick focus. Programmable, takes common batteries. Tint is actually quite good as well. I’m more of a 2700k kind of person but don’t mind the maglite tint one bit. Not so cold it’s blue. Just a nice white light. It is quite a bit thinner and lighter than my ml300l which takes D batteries. But that is an excellent light as well. Already have about 7.5 hours on high in the cold at night with c batteries that were never used but already a year past expiration date. I keep checking them though to make sure they don’t leak because they are cheapo batteries. And you can still do momentary on like old maglites. I keep hearing people say the new maglites don’t have momentary but they sure do, just have to change the settings.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
