Great Mahogany Cutaway A/E Guitar!
This mahogany Ibanez sounds great and is made well. Though it is the "junior" version of the AE245, it still has a full sound with good bass and midrange. The body is a bit deeper and perhaps that does it. Very nicely made, though the no-name open-back tuners aren't the greatest. The understated classy look of the satin finish, abalone rosette, fingerboard vines, and full binding look like they were designed by a guitar "stylist" and go together quite well. The AE245JR is VERY lightweight, a good thing, and due in part to the very simple electronic pickup system that requires no holes in the side of the guitar. It has a very natural sound plugged in, but you'll have no EQ or volume controls on the guitar itself - that needs to be done on your preamp or amp or foot control. But is sounds great as is - nice balance from high to low, and, at first test anyway, not "quacky" like typical piezo pickups.
