Awesome guitar
I am new at guitar playing and I bought this 245 to replace my 1970s Epiphone. What a difference it has made. I really enjoy playing it and due to it low action and light weight I practice an hour longer. I ordered a Fender amp so i am curious how it will sound amplified. I did lower the action a bit more and it was easy to do. Love the guitar and if your just starting out i recommend it for its thinner neck and shorter scale.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to play
I love this guitar! Even with my arthritis I can play this guitar fairly easy (hey, it is a steel string acoustic after all). The small scale length makes fretting chords as easy as I have found on an acoustic. The beautiful mahogany has a sexy voice and the fretboard is a work of art. I am an Ibanez fan now!

Great Mahogany Cutaway A/E Guitar!
This mahogany Ibanez sounds great and is made well. Though it is the "junior" version of the AE245, it still has a full sound with good bass and midrange. The body is a bit deeper and perhaps that does it. Very nicely made, though the no-name open-back tuners aren't the greatest. The understated classy look of the satin finish, abalone rosette, fingerboard vines, and full binding look like they were designed by a guitar "stylist" and go together quite well. The AE245JR is VERY lightweight, a good thing, and due in part to the very simple electronic pickup system that requires no holes in the side of the guitar. It has a very natural sound plugged in, but you'll have no EQ or volume controls on the guitar itself - that needs to be done on your preamp or amp or foot control. But is sounds great as is - nice balance from high to low, and, at first test anyway, not "quacky" like typical piezo pickups.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
