Its OK for occasional Use
These are my initial impressions as I have yet to fully use this product.
The unit is very neat as its designed to fit in the compatible Shark helmets. Top marks for that!
ITs easy to install and the outside buttons fit well to the helmet shell and don't look .
On start up the voice prompt is pretty unintelligible, nowhere as clear as in Sena versions.
The speakers are "tinny" by comparison to Sena too.
The Boom mike is a little obtrusive. On a full face helmet its better to have a button mike, but this does not come as an option.
Connection to a phone is straightforward. However, when I connected to the music player I could not get the buttons to work for the phone. Even when turned on and off again. I thought there must be something wrong with the unit. When I restarted everything and made sure the music player app was shut down, the phone control from the buttons was fine. So, I expect some issues when trying to switch between the two. I am not aware of any way to update firmware and unlike Sena there is not app to change settings or update the unit.
Another problem I had when using the music player was that the volume would only turn up with the button and it didn't respond to the volume down button.
Overall, its a good fitting piece of kit for occasional use taking or receiving calls. It will work to play music, but I seldom will use it for that. If I did I would want greater reassurance that it would not interfere with the phone connection and I would want better speakers.
I have not tried to use it for intercom yet.
For the money its good to have something for occasional use that is specific to the helmet and unobtrusive. There are better products out there and the Sena unit specific to my Schuberth Helmet is streets ahead, but twice the price of this one.....
