I am unlikely to be doing the running or cycling you might associate with something like this but, having just had a leg op, I need to keep track of the exercise that I am getting to get myself fit again. Having used it for 10 days, I now understand better how to set it up and review the daily results using the Bluetooth app on my phone. The Garmin Connect app is very good but, with Bluetooth turned on, I have found that the phone now needs to be charged every day due to the extra battery drain rather than every two to three days previously but the information the app provides me with is excellent. Another of my activities needs me to use the GPS to show location in OS British Grid. After a bit of reading and fiddling and having now downloaded the relevant widget to the phone, that is also working successfully but be aware that the use of the GPS will also drain the watch's battery and should be used frugally. Many of the Vivoactive range provide similar functionality but I chose the Vivoactive HR due to its cost.Read full review

Ok, I bought it 2nd hand so I probably have no right to expect absolute reliability. Worked great for a month then I charged it one evening and everything froze. Powered it on and off several times but touch screen didn't respond to effectively I had a stopwatch. Then, miraculously, I accidently let it run out of charge and when charging it up, everything started working again (remains operational at this time). It really charged my life again, keeping tabs on heartrate, steps and encouraged me to workout and hit gym. Tracks well onto Garmin app. Just not sure when its going to check out again..hopefully not anytime soon..

I find my this a real motivator to exercise. Sleep monitoring helps to see the sort of night I have had. Not accurate with steps, as I use a wheelchair when outside and I can achieve my daily steps within half an hour of use. It also records steps when i am knitting (arm movement). Does not pick up flights of stairs every time. great to use for swimming. It is a good guide for monitoring activity, but not to be taken too seriously.

An excellent smart watch with lots of good features and a screen that's easy to read even in bright sunlight. Like many smart watches, it's not small and sits quite prominently on the wrist, however it's quite light, so doesn't feel as heavy as it looks.

Bought this to track my exercise. Pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up, customise and navigate (once I’d downloaded the free on-line manual). Sleep pattern tracking most revealing.

I mainly walk and cycle and this is a great addition. I already have a Garmin for my bike, so Connect is a great way to monitor my health, my journey and have links to my iPhone for reminders, calls. A useful tool for when I am out and about.

Very happy with this watch. I didn't know I needed that level of integration with my running software but I'm benefitting from it week by week. It was refurbished and out-of-date piece of tech but way ahead of what I expected and still a few steps ahead of what I need. Big savings and big returns
