I had previously bought gumbo and in the right place both which are very good records. I wanted more. when i learned that Meters,New orleans´ trusted session group was on this one as they had been on in the right place,it was an obvious choice. So is this sequel to the in the right place? No,it´s not.Where as previously they played more traditional N´awlins groove, this is much more funky. Funk has got more bass,so that´s what is more prominent, but no need to fear, there´s no loss of bayou feeling. What this set loses in comparison is the free flowing feeling. Previous one you danced up close with your significant other, this one, side by side. It´s more a question of which you prefer, there´s no real loss of quality musically. What you need to know about this record is, Dr.John+Meters, both New orleans´ central musical figures, both in their creative form and you should know what you´re getting. Funk, soul, gospel, blues all boiled together to make a tasty stew. Can you go amiss with Dr.John? Not during this period.Read full review
