Older zipper model preferred over newer magnet model
This Yeti is the model of choice (with zipper) for us over the newer version (with heavy seal magnets). The zipper model stays open and is therefore easier to operate while loading. For one person to load the "magnet" model one must place a wooden ruler or some such implement into the opening and keeping it open. The issue with this for me is that with the ruler workaround I do not have access to the whole opening. So, for example, if I am trying to load an unsliced tenderloin (or other long item), the ruler is wedged into the middle and I can't get the meat into the cooler without a huge and silly amount of maneuvering. The second issue with the new "magnet" is the strength of the magnets make working in the loading process very liable to get an irritating wrist, hand, or finger caught as the opening slams closed with a powerful and quick snap. Again, the zipper model doesn't surprise with any of these newer "innovations" and just plods along as expected. I haven't as yet written anything about the convenience -- here are just a few: Holds bottles of wine standing up without complaining, keeps ice like a no other, this thing is rugged, and workmanship is top quality.
