Great build, great fun
This has to be one of my favourite tamiya builds and is enjoyable throughout. Once built and dialled in, the Super Astute is great fun to drive and is quick even with a tamiya 23t Sport Tuned Motor and the 2wd adds a lot to the enjoyment. The only down side to this kit is that it doesn’t come with a motor and while this may be to allow you to choose the set up, for the price of the kit it seems a bit of a con especially as this is a 2wd model. This is only a minor issue however as the sport tuned motor can be easily purchased for around £20 and works incredibly well with this chassis. One other point to mention is the week steering rods which are really susceptible to bending if you experience a hard frontal impact so it is worth sticking up on some spares. All in all, this is one of my favourite tamiya buggies and along with my lunchbox it is the first to get picked out for a running session.
