Very effective. Does the job well
Using it to extract oil from my marine diesel engine. Had to push-fit a short length of 6mm o/d nylon tube into 6mm i/d tube supplied in order to fit the 6mm bore sump pipe on my engine but that was no problem.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

ineffective, wont create desired vaccum, not fit for purpose it was made for
the product is flawed. and the flaw is that it dont work. and it dont work because the pump action does not create a vaccum enough to suck the oil out the engine. sure if you pump and pump like a madman for 20 minutes you will achieve a full pot of oil but im sure we all have better things to do that pump that thing till our arms ache. i tried furiously and steady and long and short strokes of that pump, i even in the end tried some fairy liquid to try and create a good seal but nothing worked the piston was flimsy in the cylinder. the solution is to create a better seal between piston and pump body but this item dont have that and thats exactly what is need to do the job you bought it for. just buy elsewhere there are ones that do work but cost 3 times as much, we all know it pays to buy good and buy once. on this occasion i made a mistake.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Using the Silverline oil extractor
Works very well. Quite slow to drain 8 litres of oil from my Merc but so much quicker than jacking up car and removing sump plug. Will certainly use this for alternate oil changes on our cars. As with all Silverline products this item is well made and good value for money. Unable to use it for the purpose I bought it for, changing engine oil. Dipstick tube too narrow on my car. Amazing for mk2 Ford focus transmission/gear oil change
Bought this for a 1.6 MK2 face lift ford focus (UK Model) gear box oil change as there is no drain plug on my engine so had to go through the filler plug this worked a treat only thing i needed to get was some smaller tubing to fit into the smallest tube you get to get past the gears but it pulled out every drop of gear oil it worked a treat would i buy again without a doubt will it last i don't know but if you need it for what i needed it for its perfectVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great for boat bilges.
This is my second Silverline extractor. The first one gave 4 years of trouble free water extraction from the “hard to get at” corners of my boat’s bilges.
