    Good product

The end of universal remotes is here. This is the perfect way to control just about anything in your house. My only complaint is that you can only put in 6 devices to control. Would be nice for those that have a boatload of controllable stuff to be able to control it all. Works well on both my iPad Pro and my Android phone.

Well-designed, Works well, but makes assumptions

The Logitech Harmony Hub is a good product that with the right situation will install smoothly and work flawlessly. "with the right situation" is key though. The hub must be installed in a well-designed, properly wired TV setup, entertainment center, home control system, etc. My -problem was that I had an entertainment center like those in a lot of houses where I had added on equipment every year or two and just did enough to get it working. Then another, then another. When I began to try to install the Harmony Hub, I think the list of devices included a Samsung TV, a Sony BluRay recorder/player, a SlingBox, a TiVo DVR, an Integra Receiver/control system and an Xbox 360. Along with all these devices, I needed a remote control receiver/distribution setup, an ethernet switch and multiple speakers spread out in the walls. Harmony Hub never had a chance because most of these devices were added on later in a messy sort of way. Behind the TV was a rat's nest of wiring that meant it was difficult to track a wire all the way from one device to the next. What I had to do to set up a system Harmony Hub could handle was remove: Xbox, SlingBox and one set of speakers. I hadn't used any of these for a couple years at least. Then I had to remove all the wires, I mean ALL THE WIRES!! Then starting over from scratch, I rewired the whole system in an orderly way, routing everything through the Integra control system/receiver. I ended up with a pile of useless cables, a pile of excess cables and a much cleaner area behind the TV. Once I did all that, the Harmony Hub worked simply, easily and effectively. So as long as the system you are trying to automate with a single remote is properly designed, simply wired and well understood, the Harmony Hub is Great! Just don't try to use it to fix that rat's nest of wires hiding behind your TV.

  • Overall, it's a homerun.

The product is very amazing in that it uses the cell phone as the control device. I use an iPhone 7+ and I find it somewhat quirky in the volume control. If you use the volume control on the side of the phone which the instructions tell you you can it can run away with itself and go to full blast. Needless to say it's hard on ears and especially my dogs. The best way to control the volume is inside the program where the volume is controlled by the device especially for the device. Also it tends to not send a long enough infrared signal to certain devices under certain circumstances which I can't really comment on why the device will not work. You may have to send the signal more than once.

  • Paired with Alexa

Easy set up because I already had a Logitech remote control and the hub copied the settings. I bought it to pair with Alexa and that works fine. I only rated it a 4 because Alexa doesn't always turn on all three items needed to watch TV. I'm not sure if it's an Alexa problem or a hub problem. Other than that occasional glitch, it works fine and I would buy it again!

  • Great Hub for my Samsung TV

If I lose my controller, which I always do, I grab my phone and can completely control my devices. Works perfectly with Alexa too. Could use a few more services (like Wemo devices) but I won't give it any fault for that. The control is great. I bought it without the companion and just use my Harmony One remote separately. They don't work together, but no big deal. I leave my Harmony One on my regular tv funcion, and when I turn on using Alexa/Harmony, the remote is ready.

  • Simple Yet Powerful

Very easy to program but mine was refurbished and was trying to sync with a remote. I did not want nor buy a remote. After some frustration of not being able to program it I found a factor reset procedure on the web that eliminated the remote syncing problem. Afterwards it was smooth sailing. This product is such an improvement over the old remote programming techniques where you had to press several buttons to get in a programming mode then press the keys in exactly the correct order. Then there was no way to query what the remote stored. Don't miss that old technology.

  • Great product to eliminate a remote.

I have a second theater system in a Master Suite. This product makes my iPhone the remote that is fully functional. The system and TV are on the channel I want when I get there. I still use the hub and Harmony Elite in the main Theater room. Eliminating a remote is a no brainer. Like it or not the smart phones have been made necessary by the best marketing campaign since the diamond cartels con game.

  • Requires tech skills to set up.

I am a retired computer tech who also ran and built a recording studio. Safe to say I have some experience with technology. While I was able to get this device working well, I cant imagine how someone without technical skills would have pulled it off. As it was it took me hours to work out all the issues.

Great product. Simplified our remotes down to actually one, without issues. No more need to plug remote in to program or make changes.
