good album from probably the greatest piper of modern times
I don't think the late, great Gordon Duncan ever quite captured his blistering live performances in a studio album (see eg his entry in the Piping Recital series, or the Piper's Concert). But this is a good, solid album of pipe music without too much finicking about, ancient and modern, solo, with bouzouki accompaniment, and in pipe band format. The final 'techno' track is a lapse of judgement and taste, but it's not terminal...except in the sense it's the last track.
