  • Very good audio interface for the price

After a few weeks of using this to replace a Focusrite 26 Pro interface, I'm happier with the sound and recording quality from it. The input lines are less noisy than the Focusrite. The knobs have better, more consistent modulation where in the Focusrite, just a small turn of the level knobs could make too big a change. My only complaints with the Behringer so far are that it doesn't have level meters and the Windows driver control settings are very minimal. You can't change much in the configuration but I never had to for my purposes. The Focusrite driver software was far more advanced and customizable and allowed saving multiple setup scenarios. Other than these minor issues, I find the Behringer a good USB interface upgrade from the Focusrite firewire one, which limited its use to older computers.

  • UMC1820

This is a great box. It replaced a Layla 20 I had been using since 98 but would only run under XP. It was time to move on. The sound quality is greatly improved over the Layla. It really is impressive. You could easily make a master with this box and it is heads and shoulders above what the Beatles had back in the day. Spend your time and money on playing and composing. If you are any good this will record it perfectly. Funny, I bought the Layla as a returned product at Guitar Center years ago and I bought this as a manufacturer refurb last week and I hope to use it for 20 years like the Layla. Hats off to Behringer on this one.

  • Sounds good, flaky Windows drivers

4 stars - it's "OK". The hardware is fine, it sounds better than I expected. It seems like it's solidly constructed too. But the Windows drivers are flaky and a bit unreliable. The latency is high even on my i7 laptop - probably because of the lackluster drivers. I'm settling on a 256 ASIO buffer using Presonus Studio One 3.5 There's also no routing software or standalone. Not a huge complaint at this price, but it would have really set this unit apart if it was included. That said, it's well worth the money. Just don't expect RME quality drivers from this budget unit.

  • Best bang for the buck out there!

This interface is seriously amazing. You can’t beat the price for all of the inputs and outs, crystal clear pre amps, LOW LOW latency... free daw with great plugins..and just all around incredible. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.

  • Great USB preamp and converter

I can get this down to 1X128 buffers, which is the highest I'd want to consider acceptable, but the unit is rock solid at that setting. The pre-amps are fairly clean, but a little "hissy" at higher gain stages. If it weren't for that I'd give it 5 stars.

  • Fascistic Product

You won’t find this many channels for this price. Such a simple to use interface. I needed 6 channels to multitrack my drums, and this works perfectly.

  • Perfect

As you upgrade your home studio setup you will be bummed that the umc 1820 doesn't have a world clock port. However, this is only because this unit is outstanding in performance speed and studio quality at any price range.

  • Behringer UMC 1820 audio/midi interface

This is a must to have for recording Metal drums. And the 8 Midas mic preamps are excellent for recording heavy-metal/thrash-metal. Behringer is becoming a top name brand contender. -JGH

  • Inter-face

This is a great useful and adaptable piece of gear that I use in combo with a ada8200 to give me 16 inputs into protocols. Awesomeness is the UMC 1820

  • Love it

keeps disconnecting in the daw though but superb in terms of sound. could the cause prolly be the wifi usb connection fighting for power? thanks
