Indispensable Tool for Monitor Calibration and Photo Printing
I purchased the Datacolor Spyder X Pro as part my gearing-up process to start printing more of my work. As suggested by many, screen calibration is important to properly previewing images prior to printing. The results were very accurate resulting in significant time and cost savings minimizing, if not eliminating, the need of making several hard proofs to get the desired outcome. Heck, it might even pay for itself over time! I like the fact that DataColor regularly updates their products. the Spyder X Pro also issues reminders to recalibrate your monitor regularly (monthly). I'm not sure that is necessary, but the process is swift and easy enough not to be a burden. It works for me it takes some getting use to because I was so use to looking at my colors on my monitor very vivid.

Finally a consistent color between my multi-monitor setup and also consistency of colors between monitor color and printer.
