Disappointing
This tape works well and certainly keeps the pigeons away from the brassicas. However after about 6 to 8 weeks the tape deteriorates and breaks and continues to do so even when trying to tie it together. This is very disappointing but because it works so well we have bought new tape to replace the old but hope that as the summer wears on into autumn that it will not deteriorate so quickly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A length of string would have the same effect
I bought this to stretch the length of the apex of my shed to stop the wood pigeon from landing on the apex, making a mess and piercing the roofing felt with their claws. I have yet to hear it humming, whistling, singing or making any other type of noise. Shorty after fixing it on the shed roof a pigeon landed next to it and didn't seem concerned at all. However, it has stopped the birds settling directly on the apex simply because it is stretched across from end to end and they are likely to get tangled up in it...a length of string would have served the same purpose in my view. Worth a try
The tape appears to work in that the crows and magpies feasting on the grass seed have mainly gone away. The 30 metre length is not enough for larger areas or a number of areas. I ended up buying 3 packs but probably should have had more to allow the correct spacing and heights of the tape. The tape is very flimsy and quite difficult to set up if one has hard ground to push the stakes into. I could not find any other suitable bird deterrent to cover a limited area without deterring small birds on my bird feeders.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bird scarer
With this in place and a couple of scary looking fake owls, it’s done the trick, no more dollops of large bird poop all over my patio, laundry, driveway and cars! In the wind it makes a really loud noise, brilliant and the neighbours did comment, but it’s due to them feeding the pigeons that’s caused the problem in the first place, boom!
