Time to pay some serious respect to this brother ........
Always been a fan of GSH, & since his demise have been keen to update my collection of this brothers work. Quite simply this collection of songs is masterful & gives us all an insight into GSH's mind at a time of social & political upheaval in the US. Coupled with fine musicianship, with a heavy jazz influence, & at times withering lyrics this album is a must for people wishing to find one of the rich roots of what later came to pass as rap music. GSH - often copied, never bettered. Peace.

Speaks about the issues you feel, the racism, political issues all encompassed in a great soul vibe, although the album contains songs from a while back its still great music, especially compared to today's standards! T
I also heard about this guy through a certain Kanye West, "My Way Home" featuring Common made me curious. Their was nothing about the album I didn't like. I decided to buy it as I was into soul muisic and for a while their has been no one else thats really caught my attention, male vocalist wise, in the past couple of years besides Musiq and Anthony Hamilton, don't get me wrong their are other names in the collection but mention soul music to me and the rememberable names are Musiq and Anthony Hamilton and their must be a reason they stick in my head, because their that good.Read full review
