Clean engine, great all round performance increase and ecologically sound product.
I have been using this product for 15 years. One of my engines had a cylinder head gasket replaced and after 340,000 miles the cylinder head was completely clean. Fuel consumption improvement is over 5%, engine performance is sharp and smooth, but most importantly my 16 year old Citroen gives lower emission readings than most brand new diesels and it now has 170,000 miles on the clock. Nobody knows!
I answered 'yes' to 'recommend?', 'good value?', 'good quality?' questions but, 'Does it do what it says on the can (sorry, bottle)?' In all honesty, nobody knows! You simply can't do an A and B test. If the claimed benefits are true, it may well be helping to prevent my particulate filter from clogging up too often. No measurable increase in economy, though. One bottle lasts several tankfuls, so it's not too much of an extra cost. Cheaper than Halfords
I've been using this brand of injector cleaner for a few years now. I used to buy it from Halfords or similar shops but then realised I could get it cheaper on Ebay. One bottle will last for six or seven full 50 litre tanks of diesel and is better value for money than the products where you use the entire bottle in one tank. The product also increases the cetane rating of the diesel (similar to what octane does for petrol) giving you a bit more power. Use this every tank full (or every other tank full it's up to you) and your vehicle will run like a sewing machine. I've driven diesels for twenty-odd years now and was advised by an old diesel fitter back then to use injector cleaner regularly. Good: Works for me better than Super Diesel, more mpg and more "go", and works out cheaper than the 12p/ltr premium I have to pay for Super Diesel. Don't know if it is more eco-friendly, but if it aids efficiency then I would guess that it makes for more complete combustion. Does just what it should!
I've used this additive for many years. And I know there will be many doubters. I for one do not suggest it makes your car more economical. Although some may say that. I just find my car starts better and runs slightly quieter. And when you drive it the response is smoother and quicker. Obviously this is my opinion. But it certainly has a positive affect. The only thing it could be is the higher cetane number. All I can say is if you've not tried it before give it a go. But try the whole bottle not just one measured dose. Top quality.
We have been using this Millers ecomax diesel additive for over 3 years in 2 cars and the difference it has made especialy for one of the cars is the difference between black and white . This car was very sluggish on take off but after a first time double dose and a 700 ml weekend motorway run it improved no end. This improved further over the next few thousand miles and it has transformed the overall performance .I have tried running the same car without the millers added and the car is not quite as frisky. I have to say that i do not feel i get any more MPG but i do have a heavy foot. I have also used the Millers ecomax petrol version in a old high compression engined motorcycle and it's a different bike far better runs cooler,no pinking and better performance. A more economic route to Premium Diesel fuel!
The diesel engine in my Citroen C4 is designed to Euro 6 Specification (low pollution £0.00 Road Tax) I had been advised to use a Premium Diesel fuel in this model every 4th tankful of fuel (at least) At the time that I purchased this vehicle the cost difference between standard and Premium diesel was about 14p/litre. Miller's Ecomax costs around £12.00 for a bottle that will treat 500 litres of fuel - a definite cost saving. Does it work? Well no doubt time will tell but Miller's are a very reputable long established company - so it's worth a try! I did notice the other day however whilst checking tyres for pot hole damage, that the inside of the exhaust pipe was as clean bright and as shiny as the outside! after 12000 miles! well worth a try
Watched a prog a while back recommending Red X to clear the muck out of the fuel combustion system. I have in the past used this excellent product. My dear brother suggested Millers fuel additive as he had great success with it. Thus I ordered such and have used it repetitively. approx every 6 months. Firstly I noticed little difference but the second time through ( first use in first tank full then second use in third tank full then every six months just the once) my, what a difference, better throttle response and control, clearer exhaust, substantial reduction in black smoke, no over run on ignition off, and roughly four more mpg on average. I have offered some to several friends and so had to reorder a new bottle for myself. Whole heartedly can recommend this product, its not a full engine de carbon at plus 100 pounds but it is a noticeable improving product.
