I am suprised at the quality at the price. So easy to use, automatically powers up the display as you use it - you have to switch off manually. The quality of the engraving is first class as is the smoothness of operating. Comes fitted in a sturdy plastic case and even has a spare battery - all in all a good buy.

I have owned many of my own verniers, and used even more over the 30 years I have been in engineering. For the price of these, nothing comes even close. Full metal, accurate, well made and even though its fitted with a battery it comes with a spare one too! And theres also the perfectly decent hard case. I dont understand the reviews which say the vernier itself is plastic, I certainly got a stainless one. Oh and finally it also self-powers on when you move the slider, a nice touch. Makes it ready to go (as long as it was left fully closed so reads zero). Honestly, for less than 11 quid you would be a mug to not buy one of these.

Went for this one as it's made from stainless steel instead of cheap flimsy plastic. The case looks a bit on the cheap side but the caliper is great. Spare battery too.
