Had this on vinyl when it was first released and it had 'disappeared' from my collection. Probably went by the way of most people's lost vinyl - lent it to somebody and never got it back and then forgot abought it. Bought the cd on the strength of hearing Visions in Blue on TOTP re-run and instantly becoming a teenager again. So although one or two tracks haven't quite stood the test of time others most certainly have with 'Hymn', 'Reap' and 'Visions' being my personal favourites. The quality of the tracks makes Quartet more than a nostalgic trip back to the eighties but back to a time when bands could write good tunes, play their instruments and could thrive without the need of so-called social media. I would recommend Quartet to those who used to love Ultravox and lost their copies or to those who want to check them out without listening to 'Vienna'.Read full review

I bought this CD to replace the cassettes I had many years ago having just got the Ultravox 'bug' again! The CD is excellent and it has many extra's that were not on the original. The purchase was painless and I got the CD for a song!
Well pleased .

Quartet is the best album of Ultavox.

If you are into 80s Electro Pop I class this as Excellent. Using the Kraftwerk inspired minimalism, Ultravox have taken there sound into big chart territory. Precursing Simple minds, and U2 with a panoramic sound. If you are into stadium band rock then only regard this as being good not excellent. They were bordering on influential but it seems there was a conflict of style within the band, Midge Ure going for the YMO/Krafterk pop accessibility whilst the rest of the band are still stuck in punk/rock.
