Published in 1987 by Kaye & Ward / Heinemann, this hardcover first edition tells a captivating story that is sure to delight fans of junior fiction. Illustrated masterfully by Clive Spong, the book is a visual treat for readers and collectors alike.
It’s a fantastic book as the stories are fantastic and are much better than the Thomas content that is coming out now. The pictures are amazing as they are really realistic and some of the illustrations are actually similar to some of the Rev W Awdry illustrations which was interesting to see and I loved the fact that there was engine called Emma in it which is my Mum’s name which is why I brought this book. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that this book is a first edition which is great since other Gordon The High Speed Engine books have been on Ebay at I think £20 + thank you very much this item.
The illustrations are wonderful. The writing is cleverly written, in my opinion it’s most likely the best selling book of Christopher Awdry’s part in the Railway Series.
