Basic story is there but...
The story does not compare to the 1968 release("Charly" with Cliff Robertson). The story is like a synopsis of the original release in that it glosses over a lot of the things which were essential for the main character's development. ("Charly Gordan"). Certain parts were omitted from this release such as Charley's experiences when he went out into the "real world." The basic story line and plot are there, but the new release fails to develop the main character fully, and disappointingly chops out sections of the story. If however, you never saw the original 1968 release, you won't notice the difference.
