All six episodes from the second series of the adaptation based on the popular books by James Herriot set in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930s. Having been promoted to the role of Senior Vet, James (Nicholas Ralph) finally feels like he belongs among the people of rural Darrowby. However, when a position in his native Glasgow becomes available, James has a difficult decision to make. Meanwhile, his infatuation for Helen (Rachel Shenton) continues to cause him much anguish. The episodes are: 'Where the Heart Is', 'Semper Progrediens', 'We Can But Hope', 'Many Happy Returns', 'The Last Man In' and 'Home Truths'. The Christmas special 'The Night Before Christmas' is also included.
Fine DVD release of the second season of this nice remake of the 1970s classic BBC TV series. The release has good placed English subtitles and as an extra the Christmas special 2020 is added to this edition. The seven episodes are placed on two separate discs.
Just delightful - I could watch this endlessly - the characters, the dialogue - just perfect. Robert Hardy (Siegfried from the original 70's series) summed it up by saying he thought the popularity of 'All Creatures' came from the innocence of it all. I feel exactly the same with this wonderful new series. Sincerely hope there are many more series to come. I honestly think this could run and run. Here's hoping. 15/12/21
