SynopsisAn experienced teacher of the early 20th century, Emma Serl used imaginative lessons and short, jargon-free instructions to make learning a pleasure. She made liberal use of writings by the literary giants of our English language, heritage, as well as fables, folklore and maxims--the kinds of writing children should know if they are to become well-educated in our rich literary traditions. This text provides a strong foundation in the mechanics of the English language., Primary Language Lessons is a drill book, but with a difference. • Gentle yet comprehensive language arts material

I’ve used these Emma Serl Language lessons for my 5 children. It covers a broad area from oral dictations, summaries, memorization, recitations, picture studies and more in a very simple straightforward format. The gentle approach kept my children engaged and they blossomed from its no nonsense, no unnecessary extra work approach . The “art” of language comes through and thus it is not a formula.
