In 1993, Sheena Easton took a detour from the R&B, Prince-flavored dance music that kept her near the top of the charts through the mid- to late 1980s and early 1990s and recorded a superb standards album.
I don't usually go for all that Jazz, But, Being as it's Sheena Easton i gave it a bash! It's a bit different to her Pop, R n B and New Jack Swing albums. The songs were recorded live in the studio. The album grew on me i do like it and Sheena looks beautiful on the cover. I would recommend it to Sheena Easton and Jazz fans. The wee lass is a top notch all round performer, Sheena was grossly overlooked in the UK.
An excellent blend of jazz arrangements and Sheena Easton vocals.
Sheena Easton fans seem to be divided about this gem of an album. Patrice Rushen’s jazz settings are subtle and are complemented by wonderful vocals by Sheena Easton. For me, this is one of Sheena’s most enjoyable albums. Extremely enjoyable throughout!
