After the not-so-good Days of Open Hand Vega returns with an incredibly accomplished collection of songs that rightly put her back in the spotlight. There are acoustic ballads, proto-electro stompers (I know, hard to believe) and her signature uptempo numbers. I am a huge fan of Suzanne, and was not disappointed by this. Do not miss it.
Not Suzanne's best album, but some very good tracks anyway. In Liverpool is the outstanding track, but the title track, Bad Wisdom and Song of Sand are all great. Her sound is a bit different on this album and for once I don't like some of the arrangements. But she is an all-time great female singer - perhaps the best of all the singer-songwriters along with Tracy Chapman.
