Gung-Ho Independence Day.
I've watched this film many times over the years and although the special effects are brilliant, the script can be very cringeworthy at times. Even the lead actors look embarrassed at some of their dialogue. It's very USA-centric in that Hollywood way and has all the gung-ho dialogue that you'd expect from a land that arrogantly thinks only it can save the world. It has a great cast and the storyline is fun, but it cannot be concidered a classic as far as I'm concerned because of the dire script. Having said this, all sci-fi enthusiasts should have this film in their collection, but up against great films like Arrival, Close Encounters or Interstellar it can't hold hold a candle.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
