Four classic episodes of the television comedy. Dick Van Dyke plays Rob Petrie, put-upon head writer on the 'Alan Brady Show', who has to deal with his exasperating family as well as the trials of his working life. In 'Never Name a Duck' Rob acquires two ducks and tries to keep them out of the family's way, in case they fall in love with them. In 'Bank Book 6565696' Rob finds out that Laura (Mary Tyler Moore) has been saving up money secretly, and hopes it's for his birthday present. 'Hustling the Hustler' sees Rob get caught out playing a pool shark, to the tune of $300, and finally, in 'The Night the Roof Fell In', Rob comes home in a bad mood because his latest script needed to be rewritten.
