  • Alternative to Shakespeare...

Engrossing film - bringing Shakespeare into the 20th century. Fine acting, especially from River Phoenix. Haunting music. Gritty film - exposing the sometimes sad underbelly of life!

  • Not my cup of tea

It's not the worst film I've ever seen , but it didn't engage me. The acting is OK and it's shot cheaply I'd imagine which doesn't bother me , but somehow I'd had enough by the time it got to the Shakespeare an bit. It has been reviewed as a marmite movie....not for me.

  • Sad and beautiful

Beautiful cinematography, which brings the plight of the young men into harsh contrast. A very clever film.
