Basil, a young English writer of Greek ancestry, meets an older, free-spirited Greek peasant named Zorba (Anthony Quinn) on the island of Crete. Classic and Quinn at his best ...
Film is classical value in the world's cinematography. Quinn is good as usually, never fails. Casting great. Scenario untraditional, all the time you don't know what to expect. Comically episodes alternating with dramatical ones. Film is hard, but the ending dance Sirtaki written specially for this film is so popular and so loved that people think it's a national Greek dance.
