This is a great DVD and well worth the effort. The story follows the accepted evolution of sea snakes from terrestrial ancestors to the amazing diversity on the reefs of northern Australia. The amphibious life of the banded sea kraits in Fiji is contrasted to the fully marine existence of the Yellow Bellied Sea Snake. This journey is brought to the viewer through the extraordinary camera work of Steve Gardner and directing by John Hyde and Russell Kelley. This DVD contains the first and last known images of the critically endangered Leaf-Scaled Sea Snake and the Short Nosed Sea Snake. In all I recommend this DVD for those who are curious about the marine environment and in particular marine reptiles. The marine reserve at Ashmore Reef is surrounded by oil and gas leases that are moving towards production in the near future. This could be the best view of the reef and sea snakes in their natural state.Read full review
