Reviews5 stars out of 5 - "Buried in the richness of their music, there's a spare elegance unheard since The Triffids....They feed an energy more residual than that of The Rapture or The Strokes.", Ranked #10 in Magnet's "The 20 Best Albums Of 2005" - "Once inside, you're privy to literate songs about conflicted men, unhinged minds and worried heroes.", 4 stars out of 5 - "The album walks the same Cold War-era Bowery streets as Interpol but is not more than a half step away from lysergic brilliance."

  • National's best album

This year The National returned with what criticshave been praising their best album to date. And yes Sleep Well Beast is remarkable album but Alligator is forever gonna be my favorite. From it's strong opening with Secret Meeting and Karen, trough hountingly beutiful Daughters of the Soho Riots to the last and perhaps the best song of their career in Mr. November, this album clearly shows why The National were once considerd the greatest secret indie rock band in the world. Well, these days they are not a secret anymore but they still are the best and this allbum proves it. A must have for every indie rock fan.

  • This is an Awesome Band!

This is an awesome band - very much under rated! I discovered them a few months ago and I really enjoy listening to their music.
