This album is purely amazing... Lets go by the tracks cause that makes things easier: Track 1 - Stabbing The Drama - The title track is worthy of an award! the Drums and Guitars at the beggining get you pumped and then the vocals kick in and his voice is just perfect... Not to screamy and not to singy. then the choursus mellows down slightly and is perfect, the tempo of the song is also just right, this song has everything just right. 5/5 Track 2 - One With The Flies - Faster than Track 1 and still good, has some amazing guitar and drum bits in it. Overall a 4/5 Track 3 - Weapon Of Vanity - Good solid track, again some amazing guitar pieces. Though does seem lacking but the chorus makes up for it. 4/5 Track 4 - The Crestfallen - Seems very much like Track 3, good, 3/5. Track 5 - Nerve - Good tempo, drums are just right and the vocals are one of the best on the album. Again the guitars riffs own this song... And once Again the chorus is amazing. How do they do it! 4/5 Track 6 - Stalemate - Worst track on album, jus skip it unles your into really fast metal 2/5 Track 7 - Distance - Joint best track on the album. Is simply amazing... Just look for track 1 review and you'll get the jist of it. 5/5 Track 8 - Observation Slave - all good, no complaints, mixes gruff vocals with a beautiful singin voice. 4/5 Track 9 - Fate In Motion - Starts off like some soppy emo song but picks up into an amazing chorus. 4/5 Track 10 - Blind Eye Halo - not one of my favorites but holds its own, based round fast instrumentals. 2.5/5 Track 11 - If Possible - Starts off soft and ballady but picks up when the drums and guitars kick in. Good song 4/5 Track 12 - Amazing close, vocals are amazing, so is drums.. and just listen to that guitar. loses it in the middle but picks up again 4/5 And amazing album, a must have in any metal collection!Read full review
As the popular Soilwork t-shirt says, "Sweden's Finest" i think In Flames may have something to say about that. However there is a striking resemblance between the two bands transition through the years. Go back to Natural Born Chaos and think Reroute to Remain, Figure Number Five and Soundtrack to Your Escape, and lastly Stabbing the Drama and Come Clarity. Despite the similar paths of these two popular Melodic Death Metal bands, they can still be separated fairly easily. Soilwork go for a more Thrash style on this latest album and it does not disappoint. Stunning vocals to match the lyrics, precise machine gun drumming and spectacular guitar riffs make this one of Soilworks (and Sweden's) finest albums to date. Long time Soilwork fans may begin to leave the band claiming they have "sold out", but in reality this just isn't true. They have developed in to one of the best Melodic Death Metal bands on the planet and this album is not disappointing. If you have never heard Soilwork, this is a good starting place. If you are a fan already then buy this album!Read full review
Well, admittedly, I had previously purchased this cd before, but the prior edition was a cardboard slip one that was limited edition. However, I digress, this is the first or one of the first soilwork CDs. Its well produced, punchy, melodic and frantically complex musically. The vocals are melodic but hard at the same time, anyone not familiar with this style of metal, the only thing close to referencing to would be sevendust but different. This album, is by far my most favourite album from soilwork to date. I normally take this when im out for a drive because its just fits metal driving well. I thoroughly enjoy this album and would HIGHLY recommend anyone into this style to get it...GET IT NOW!!!
