A great collection of his early recordings.
Taken primarily from the original 78 rpm records, this collection is imho the best that is currently available. The only modern processing used here is the digital removal of surface noise from the discs - the recordings have not been altered or enhanced in any other way. The result is a excellent collection where all the hard work has been done in the locating of and cleaning up of Django & the hot club's early work. Great stuff.

Excellent collection packed with tunes from mid to late 30's. Good buy.
The first specifically European jazz. No horns. Guitars and violin (most notably Stephane Grappelli). He was a very fine player and the music is timeless.
