Based on the Canadian animated television series, airing in the United States on the Disney Channel, Dragon Booster makes its handheld debut as a racing game with a strong emphasis on combat. Players are cast in the role of Artha Penn, a teenager with a mystical connection to dragons, as they prepare to ride their beastly mount through a choice of five game types. The main focus is the All-City Race mode, where players battle other riders in 18 events spread across three classes. Each dragon automatically runs across a 3D track while players concentrate on jumping, attacking, using sprint boosts, and guiding it left or right. Winning a race earns players cash to purchase new ability-enhancing gear for their mount, and new riders and dragons will become available as the game progresses. Other play modes include Free Run, Grudge Match, Mini-Challenge, and Training. Wireless support is also available for head-to-head races against a nearby friend.
