The love emanating from Charlie, along with the shrewd and humorous antics he developed as substitutes for his inability to bark, enabled him to take over the household. Charlie served as the inspiration for this series of adventure stories for children. A great review "Charlie Smart is a great book! It teaches you a very important lesson just because you can't do something, it doesn't mean you are a failure. I like the part where the Acme Biscuit Co. is burning down and the fire spreads to a cheese factory. Also, the ending is hilarious. Charlie is my favorite character.
